DJ WILMP AKA DOOWADITTY (Amsterdam)

Wilmp has been spinning vinyl since around 1980, when he started to Funk up the party scene outside the "base of the polderfunk" hometown Heemskerk. Well trained and instructed by the wise and old of the clan he wondered or there would be funky live on other planets and galaxies.

This quest took him to far places where the Funk was unknown and the music environment was extremely hostile. He fought bravely against some of the worst and evil opponents of the eighties and nineties, like new wave, crunch and the dreadful dark rock. In those days it was an unequal battle but firmly he stood his ground knowing that the forceful groovy spirits of his hometown where protecting him. And however he was still going strong in the end it was the comfort of family live that got him and eased him down.

Meanwhile Funk was dead (is what they said) but little pieces sampled there way back and where found again turning the rap-scene to hip-hop witch conquered the world leaving all the world music styles in a blast behind. With the vinyl treasures well hidden this old funk combatant was soon to be forgotten and his battles became legends witch where told with amazement and unbelief.

Transistorfunk pulled him back from under the rocks and gave this brave warrior, in benefit of new hope, a chance to spin the Funk once again. Reborn and dedicated to party now he goes on till the end of times............ and beyond.

Thanx brothers and sisters of Transistorfunk for keeping da Funk alive.  May The Funk Be With You !
